The Ex-Box Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Phoenix, Arizona, is dedicated to building a circular economy as a lifestyle. We believe sustainability — for both quality of life and the environment — should be accessible to everyone. That’s why our mission is simple: To make every move matter for you and our planet, one cardboard box at a time.
Just as we promote a circular economy, the Foundation itself operates as a circular business model. Our BoxUp-Cycle initiative was created to fund and sustain our Open Box of Opportunity Programs, ensuring that environmental impact translates directly into community benefit. By reutilizing and repurposing cardboard boxes, we reduce waste while improving the moving experience and creating pathways to opportunity. Every box collected, every grant received, and every donation made goes directly into expanding our BoxUp-Cycle services and sustaining the Open Box of Opportunity Programs — building an ecosystem where sustainability, innovation, and community growth work hand in hand.

Our Assist the Future Program, believes basketball is more than just a game — it’s a powerful tool that unites people from all walks of life, teaching lessons of growth, teamwork, and resilience. Just like life, the court offers opportunities to learn from our mistakes and come back stronger. Our mission is to provide underprivileged youth in the Valley of the Sun with equal access to the game they love, free from financial barriers. We are committed to creating a space where every child can play, grow, and thrive — on and off the court. Through basketball, we aim to build a stronger, more connected community, one assist at a time.
